Well,
the weather has broken (sort of) and things are starting to get busy
in Logan County. Besides checking out Close Up we recommend you
visit our Community Calendar for still more events this weekend. If
you think there isn't something to do in Logan County, you just
aren't looking.

The
Lincoln Special Olympics is having a pancake and sausage
breakfast Sunday, April 26, at the Knight of Columbus Hall. The
times are from 7 a.m. to noon.
Tickets for adults are $6; for kids 12 and under, $4. There will
also be a 50/50 drawing and a basket raffle. Tickets are available
at the door or you can contact Ryan Curry or Kim Curry at 732-6424
or 671-5296. Proceeds go entirely to the local Special Olympics
fund.
The
Lincoln Community High School Band will be presenting their
Spring Band Concert on Wednesday, April 29, at 8 p.m. at the
high school. The concert is free and open to the public. The band is
under the direction of David Swaar.
Christian
Child Care's Summer Program is starting once the public schools
are out in Lincoln. We have 18 openings; if we have a great need,
that can be changed to 30. The summer program theme this year is
combining the joy of reading with adventure. We will be bringing
books alive. Also we will swim at the Lincoln Rec Center several
times a week and take a field trip. Some of the field trips planned
are a trip to see the Peoria Chiefs play baseball; go bowling; go
skating; also go to the Bloomington, Springfield, Decatur museums.
During the summer children will learn to cook, do crafts, have some
computer and WII time. This will be provided by a staff of
experienced teachers, in a safe and nurturing environment. Children
need to be registered by May 18 so we will know if we need to hire
additional staff.
If you need more information or would like to come by for a tour,
please contact Coleen Moore at 732-5750, or come visit us at 721
Wyatt Ave. We are in the Odd Fellows facility.
