Margaret Hines

[December 01, 2009]  STANFORD -- Margaret E. Hines, 63, of Stanford, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at 3:30 p.m. at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Waynesville United Methodist Church. Loren Miller will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service time.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville.

Arrangements are being handled by Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta.

Ms. Hines retired in 2005 after working 30 years as a rural mail carrier in Stanford. She volunteered many times to deliver mail on Christmas Day to make sure all packages arrived for that special day.

Margaret Ellen Lee Hines was born Aug. 11, 1946, in Lincoln, a daughter of Paul A. and Hilda Perring Lee.

She is survived by her mother, of Lincoln; two sisters, Linda (and Richard) Miller of Newark, Del., and Carol Huerd of Waynesville; two brothers, Dale (and Linda) Lee of Waynesville and Wayne (and Connie) Lee of McLean; three nieces; five nephews; six great-nieces; and four great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

She was a 1964 graduate of McLean-Waynesville High School.

Margie enjoyed playing cards and loved being around people. She cherished time with her nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are thankful in the hope she now is at peace with our Lord.

Memorials may be made to Allin Township Fire and Rescue, Stanford.
