Phillip Clewell

[December 02, 2009]  Phillip Alan "Phil" Clewell, 53, of Lincoln, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta.

Mr. Clewell was employed by Gale's Products and ServiceMaster in Galesburg, at Lincoln Developmental Center until its closing, and Jacksonville Developmental Center until his death.

He was born Feb. 15, 1956, in Galesburg, a son of Arthur and Patricia Wetterow Clewell. He married Mary Jo Stine on Oct. 5, 2000, in Lincoln. 

He is survived by his mother; his wife, of Lincoln; two daughters, Latisa Graeser of Decatur and Seanna Clewell of Lincoln; two granddaughters, Brittney and Crystal Graeser, both of Decatur; four brothers, Dale Clewell, Raymond Clewell, Kevin Clewell and David Clewell, all of Galesburg; two sisters, Vicky Bangert and Anita Clewell, both of Galesburg; a special aunt, Glenda Hollis of Monmouth; and several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Directors

Phil loved mushroom hunting, fishing and being outdoors with his brothers. He was a collector of coins and steins and bowled in a league at Logan Lanes in Lincoln.

Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
