Grace Reeves

[December 07, 2009]  BROADWELL -- Grace Reeves, 96, of Broadwell, died Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at 4:15 a.m. at Lincoln Christian Village.

There will be a private family graveside service at Kline Cemetery, Broadwell, with John Welter officiating.

Friends and family are invited to gather at Grace's home in Broadwell, at 124 E. Logan, from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

She was a homemaker.

She was born June 29, 1913, at Broughton to Oda and Anna Davis Dudley. She married Wilbur Reeves in Hamilton County in December of 1932. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by one son, Roger Reeves of Broadwell; seven daughters, Anna (and Donald) Stanfield of Lincoln, Carol (and Jack) Yard of Franklin, N.C., Eleanor Clements of Mount Pulaski, Mary (and Don) Lanterman of Lincoln, Pat Bingham of Buford, Ga., Linda (and Jim) Cave of Savannah, Ga., and Connie Barfield of Lakeland, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mrs. Reeves was a member of the Broadwell Christian Church.

She was an avid gardener and loved to cook.

She graduated from McLeansboro High School.

Memorials may be made to Lincoln College or The Christian Village.
