H. Keith Neece

[December 16, 2009]  H. Keith Neece, 69, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, at his home.

A memorial gathering is planned for 5-7 p.m. Friday at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home.

Mr. Neece was a respiratory therapist employed by Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln from 1963 to 1987 and by St. John's Hospital in Springfield from 1987 to 2001.

He was born May 26, 1940, in Jacksonville, the son of Howser and Elsie Neece.

He is survived by his three children, Lance Neece of Morton, Scott (and wife Amy) Neece of Lincoln and Jodi (and husband Justin) Thies of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Shirley, Norma, Marilyn and Connie.

He graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield in 1958 and from Springfield Memorial Hospital as a respiratory therapist in the early 1960s.

He loved to hunt and range-shoot. He was an avid bridge player.

He was always there to watch all of his grandchildren's sporting events and to "shoot the breeze" with his family and friends.

Funeral Directors

Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
