Jean Leesman

[December 28, 2009]  Jean Leesman, 84, of Lincoln, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at 10:30 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Tony Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery, Hartsburg.

Mrs. Leesman worked at the Logan County treasurer and clerk's office in Lincoln. She and her husband were co-owners and operators of Prairie Trails Restaurant, San Jose.

She was born Oct. 11, 1925, in Hartsburg to Clair and Emaline Carnahan Bruner. She married Robert E. Leesman on Nov. 24, 1952, at St. Mary's Church in Lincoln. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1992. They were married for 40 years.

She is survived by one son, Robert Edward (and his wife, Sara) Leesman of Schaumburg; one daughter, Beverly Jean Leesman (and her husband, Paul Martin) of Albuquerque, N.M.; one sister, Clara Weese of Lincoln; and two grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

She was a member of Prairieland Christian Church of Hartsburg, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary of Lincoln, Wives of U.S. Submarine Veterans of World War II, American Legion Auxiliary Post 263 and Daughters of the American Revolution of Lincoln.
