[February 05, 2009]  Playing at home on Wednesday evening, Lincoln College defeated Danville 86-79. Lynx coach Kirk Whiteman reports on the game:

"I was disappointed on how we finished the first half, up 43-41 with one minute to play; we went into the locker room 43-37 (scores to be checked).  Disappointed in the fact we gave up a couple offense rebounds and didn't defend very well.

"We only had one offensive rebound ourselves in the first half, and we really emphasized at halftime to hit the boards. I was very happy with Bryce Davis and Cortez Augusta, as they came up with some big offensive rebounds for us in the second half.

"We picked up eight offensive boards in the second half, which created more possessions for us. Darius Adams had a big night for us, going 6-8 from the 3- point line and finishing with 33 points.

"We shot the ball very well from the 3-point line (8-11 as a team). Bryce Davis came up big with a 3-pointer at 1:43 in the game with the score 79-75 to put us up seven points. Brandon Farmer did a great job on finding him open.

"Danville did a great job of mixing up their man and zone defenses with us tonight, and we (responded) well in recognizing which offense to run."

With the win Lincoln College moves to 16-6 overall, 9-0 in conference play.

The next game for the Lynx is at home versus Shawnee at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
