NEW HOLLAND -- Virginia L. Aldag, 83,
of New Holland, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, at 12:35 a.m. at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion
Lutheran Church in New Holland, with the Rev. Charles
Olander officiating. |
Burial will be in Richmond Grove Cemetery, New
Holland. Mrs. Aldag was a homemaker.
She was born April 1, 1925, in New Holland to
George and Fern Crumpler Blaum. She married John L.
Aldag on Aug. 20, 1948, in New Holland. He preceded
her in death on May 14, 1995.
She is survived by two sons, John Eldon (and
Michele) Aldag of Broomfield, Colo., and Larry (and
Debbie) Aldag of Springfield; two daughters, Sue
Aldag of Springfield and Phyllis (and Dave) Sturm of
Hoopeston; two sisters, Sherrill Blaum of New
Holland and Pat (and Wayne) LaForge of New Holland;
six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of New
Holland, where she was a custodian and volunteer for
20 years, a member of the Concordia Society and the
Lutheran Women's Missionary League. |
She was also a member of the Richmond Community
Club.
She was a graduate of the Order of St. Francis
Nursing School in Peoria and received her R.N.
degree.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in
New Holland.
