Eckersley extends contract as analyst with TBS

[February 24, 2009]  ATLANTA, Ga. (AP) -- Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley signed a multiyear extension to his contract to serve as a baseball analyst with TBS.

Eckersley will work in the studio during the division series and league championship series, the network said Monday. The former pitcher will also be a commentator for some regular-season games on TBS.

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them this past season," Eckersley said in a news release. "The show is a great fit with my personality and I'm looking forward to the start of the MLB season."
