[February 26, 2009]  The Lincoln College Lynx had a halftime lead Wednesday but couldn't stop a 52-point second-half performance by John Wood.

HardwareCoach Whiteman assessed the game:

"When a team scores 52 points in the second half, it is hard to get a win. Our post players were 11-14 in the first half and 3-5 in the second half. That tells the story for us offensively. We were not patient enough to get post touches.

"We need to be able to play with the lead. Up 12 points at halftime and to lose by 10 points is frustrating. If we play like we did in the first half, we are going to have a fun month of March Madness.

"However, if we play like we did in the second half, we could have a quick end to the season. We have five sophomores and I have faith that they will step up to the challenge.

"We close out the season at Lewis and Clark on Saturday."

The 83-73 loss moved the Lynx to 20-9 overall and 12-3 in the conference.
