Phillip Deilkes

[January 12, 2009]  Phillip T. Deilkes, 61, of Lincoln, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, at 2:20 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Phillip Blackburn officiating.

Burial will be at a later date.

Mr. Deilkes was a senior transportation driver for Lincoln Community Action.

He was born Jan. 5, 1948, in Muncie, Ind., to Frederick and Mildred Townsend Deilkes. He married Sandra Smith on April 24, 1982, in Kewanee.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; two sons, David Deilkes of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Dennis (and Brandi) Deilkes of Muncie, Ind.; two daughters, Rachel Deilkes (and Dustin Jackson) of Springfield and Rebecca Deilkes of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two nephews, Edwin and Andrew Deilkes, both of Lincoln; and two nieces, Amanda and Melody Deilkes, both of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jack Deilkes.

Funeral Director

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or Community Action of Lincoln.
