[January 29, 2009]  Lynx coach Kirk Whiteman discussed the team's narrow 77-74 victory over Lewis and Clark on Wednesday night:

"We were lucky to get out with a win tonight. Credit coach Stotler and Lewis and Clark. They did a great job of creating difficult matchups for us on the defensive end; plus, it seemed they substituted every one or two minutes, and our guys did a very poor job of matching up.

"We were able to get a two-point lead, 31-29, with a couple minutes to go in the first half, after giving up four 3s to the best player in the first half. After the two-minute mark, we went into the locker room down 31-37.

"We still played from behind in the second half until we had our defense create some points for us in transition. The defensive spurt, which was about the only bright spot all night, helped us get up down the stretch, and we were able to hold them off by rebounding and hitting some free throws.

"We need to be ready to play at the start of the game better than we did tonight if we expect to win games. We had 19 turnovers -- we have to do better than this!

"Darius Adams had 18 points and did a better job of making decisions, with six assists and three turnovers. Brandon Farmer saved us at the free- throw line, going 10-11 and finishing with 14 points. Don Gavin had 17, and Chris Ware had a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds."

The Lynx moved to 15-6 overall and 8-0 in the conference.

Lincoln will next play at home on Saturday versus Shawnee.
