[July 24, 2009]  CHAMPAIGN -- The University of Illinois board of trustees approved Chancellor Richard Herman's recommendation to extend Illini head football coach Ron Zook's contract by one year. The new agreement keeps Zook at Illinois until Jan. 31, 2014.

Restaurant"I am very excited that the board and Chancellor Herman have faith in me and my staff to extend this contract," said Zook. "This obviously shows a great commitment to the football program and its direction by the chancellor and coach Guenther. My family and I have enjoyed our first four years in Champaign and have appreciated all the support of the Illini Nation."
