[June 05, 2009]  MOUNT PULASKI -- William E. Taylor, 85, of The Woodlands, Texas, formerly of Elmhurst, died Thursday, June 4, 2009, in Texas.

His funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with Bill Shanle officiating. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Steenbergen Cemetery.

Mr. Taylor was a sales representative.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Chicago to George E. and Louise Giesen Taylor. He married Marian Hild in Eureka on May 8, 1947. She preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 2003.

He is survived by one daughter, Marsha (and Daniel) Vanlandingham of The Woodlands, Texas; one son, William Jr. (and Michele) Taylor of Cherry Hill, N.J.; four grandchildren, Scott Vanlandingham, Lori Vanlandingham, Krista Taylor and William Taylor III; and one great-grandchild.

One sister, Evelyn Hough, preceded him in death.

He was of the Episcopal faith.
