Ag futures mostly rise, livestock prices mixed

[June 12, 2009]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Agriculture futures mostly rose Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

HardwareWheat for July delivery slipped 1.25 cents to $5.9475 a bushel, while July corn added 5.25 cents to $4.41 a bushel. July oats gained 3 cents to $2.445 a bushel, while soybeans for July delivery jumped 21 cents to $12.67 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures rose as pork futures slipped on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

August live cattle added 0.63 cent to 81.45 cents a pound, while August feeder cattle gained 0.20 cent to 96.37 cents a pound. June lean hogs dropped 0.07 cent to 57 cents a pound, and July pork bellies shed 0.35 cent to 55.55 cents a pound.
