State Sen. Larry Bomke (right) testifies in front of the Illinois State Senate Elections Committee on behalf of Senate Bill 1666 on Tuesday. Bomke was joined by Springfield Alderman Sam Cahnman. The bill would allow Illinoisans to vote in primary elections without revealing their party affiliation. Currently 17 states have an open primary system.
