Gertrude Guzouskis

[March 13, 2009]  Gertrude Guzouskis, 84, of Lincoln, was called home to the Lord on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at 1:25 p.m.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Family Church, with the Rev. Jeffrey Laible officiating.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Guzouskis retired from J.C. Penney's in Lincoln.

She was born Nov. 22, 1924, in Springfield to Frank and Mable Zorn Newell. She married Frank Guzouskis on June 10, 1944, in Chatham. He preceded her in death Feb. 26, 2001.

She is survived by one son, John Guzouskis of Rockway Beach, Mo.; two daughters, Barbara Guzouskis of Lincoln and Carolyn James of Lincoln; one sister, Mary Lou Shinnick of Loami; one grandson, Richard "Butch" (and Jo) Rentmeister of Mount Pulaski; one granddaughter, Jennifer (and Robert) Bailey of Lincoln; 10 great-grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one grandson.

She was a member of Holy Family Church.

Memorials may be made to Memorial Home Hospice, St. Jude Children's Hospital or Carroll Catholic School.
