Merlin Beverman

[March 19, 2009]  Merlin Dean Beverman, 88, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

His graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.

Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Mr. Beverman farmed at Burton View for 45 years.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was born Oct. 1, 1920, at Burton View to Henry and Lena Buse Beverman. He married Patsy Awe on Dec. 24, 1945, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln, and his nephew, Robert (and Jill) Awe, of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his son, John Beverman, and his brother, Delmer Beverman.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 263 in Lincoln and was a member of the board of directors of the Burtonview Co-op until his retirement.

Memorial donations may be made to the building fund at American Legion Post 263.
