McLEAN -- Louis S. Fox, 100, of McLean,
died Sunday, March 29, 2009, at 1:35 a.m. at Heartland Health Care
Center in Normal.
A Mass of Christian burial for Mr. Fox will be at 10:30 a.m.
Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Atlanta, with the Rev.
Jeffrey G. Laible officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta, following
recitation of the rosary at 4:45. Additional
visitation will be at the church on Thursday from
9:30 a.m. until the service time.Burial will be
in McLean Cemetery.

Mr. Fox farmed in the Saunemin and Pontiac areas
and later at McLean. He also worked as a custodian and bus
driver for McLean Grade School, retiring in 1974
after 20 years of service.
He was born Dec. 23, 1908, in Saunemin to Balthas
and Mary Louis Fox. He married Mary Margaret Noonan
on May 3, 1939, in Odell. She preceded him in death
on Dec. 10, 2008, in Normal.
He is survived by his children, Mary Lou Wilkins
of McLean, Joseph (and Sally) Fox of Longwood, Fla.,
Rose Anne (and Russel) Craig of Waynesville, John
(and Susan) Fox of Downs and Catherine (and Gene)
Cisco of Waynesville; one sister, Emma Stevenson of
Saunemin; 13 grandchildren, Mark Wilkins, Greg
Wilkins, Bill Wilkins, Kevin Wilkins, Staci Stemley,
Brett Fox, Susan Craig, Beth Tucker, Denver Fox,
Levi Fox, Logan Fox; Ryan Cisco and Amy Prestegaard;
13 great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-granddaughter.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, four
brothers and one grandson, Mike Wilkins. |
He was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed watching them on
TV. He loved playing solitaire by the hour and
especially delighted in visits from his
grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic
Church, McLean Fire and Rescue Department, or the
generator fund at the Waynesville American Legion.
