Tressie Kenshalo

[May 07, 2009]  Tressie F. Kenshalo, 87, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, at 8:42 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Jame Hahs and Karen Deifendorf officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Mrs. Kenshalo retired from employment with the state of Illinois.

She was born Oct. 4, 1921, at Latham to Jesse and Lula Belle Cornwell Matlock. She married Austin R. Kenshalo in July 1937, and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Kenshalo (and Ron Cassens) of Springfield and Karolyn Kay Zelkin (and Marvin) of Chicago; one sister, Jessie Shull of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and one great-grandson.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lincoln and numerous civic societies and organizations.

Funeral Director

Memorials may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or to the Kids Club at the First United Methodist Church.
