Saturday, May 23, RJD Hobbies in Lincoln will be holding a
fundraiser race for the American Legion Poppy Days to help
hospitalized veterans. Contacts are Tecia Hennessey, 217-314-0007,
and Lorrie Paige, 217-732-4300. Tecia is American Legion Auxiliary
president, and Lorrie is a co-owner of RJD Hobbies. For complete

Christian
Child Care is cooking out at IGA on May 23! We are cooking pork
chops and rib-eye. We also will have a bake sale. If you are hungry,
we are the place to be from 10:30 to 1:30. We need volunteers to
work and bake sale items donated!
On Thursday, June 4, we are having our CCC board meeting at 6 p.m.
We open all board meetings to the public. Please drop by and check
us out. This is a change from our past dates. We will be meeting on
the first Thursday of the month unless other notice is given.
Don't forget the Child Care Center is closed for Memorial Day on May
25!
Stacy Manion, RN, BSN, has been named director of nursing for
The Christian Village in Lincoln. Manion earned her nursing
degree at St. John's School of Nursing and her bachelor's degree in
nursing at the University of Illinois at Springfield. She came to
The Christian Village from the Triangle Center in Springfield. She
has 17 years of nursing experience.
The Christian Village offers a range of senior living options,
including garden homes, senior apartments, skilled nursing care,
Reclaim Rehabilitation and a memory care unit.
The Christian Village is one of the 14 senior living communities
of Christian Homes Inc., headquartered in Lincoln. The organization
has campuses in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and Missouri.
Zion Lutheran April Students of the Month
Jesse Mangano, eighth-grader at Zion Lutheran School in
Lincoln, has been selected as the Zion Lutheran April Student of the
Month. Jesse's ZLS activities have included honor roll, student
council, chimes choir, speech team, and track and field. His church
and community activities include youth group and choir. Jesse enjoys
editing and making video games. Jesse's parents are Dr. Mark and
Roberta Mangano of Lincoln.
Brent Hunsley, Zion Lutheran School eighth-grader, has been
selected as the Zion Lutheran April
Student of the
Month. Brent's ZLS activities have included honor roll, student
council, chimes choir, band, speech team, baseball, basketball, and
track and field. His church and community activities include youth
group, summer baseball, and three-on-three basketball tournaments.
Brent enjoys spending time with friends and participating in sports.
Brent's parents are Mark and Diane Hunsley of Lincoln.

The four, two-hour sessions in the series will be at The Oasis
June 3, 10, 17 and 24 from 10 a.m. to noon. There will also be
classes at the ALMH Lincoln Room July 1, 8, 15 and 22 from 6:30 to
