August Lohrenz

[May 26, 2009]  August W. Lohrenz, 85, of Lincoln, died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at 8:20 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

His memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Andrew Nyren officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Mr. Lohrenz was director of plant operations at ALMH until he retired in 1986.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 to 1946.

He was born March 11, 1924, at Athens to August C. and Della Behrends Lohrenz. He married Marjorie R. Lolling on Nov. 16, 1946, at Hartsburg.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; three sons, Daniel (and Leanna) Lohrenz of Queen Creek, Ariz., Dean Lohrenz of Sunnyvale, Calif., and David (and Michelle) Lohrenz of Tremont; one sister, Annabelle Klein of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

One brother, Victor, and an infant sister preceded him in death.

Funeral Director

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be made to his church.
