Lions win volleyball regional

The Red Lions of Lincoln
Christian University defeated Maranatha Baptist Bible College
Crusaders in four games 25-17, 25-18, 22-25 and 26-16 to win the
National Christian College Athletic Association Division II Mid-West
Regional Volleyball Championship at Grand Rapids, Mich., on Saturday
afternoon.

At the conclusion of the tournament, LCU’s Megan Callahan, senior
setter, from Clinton High School, was named Mid-West Region Division
II Player of the Year. Joining Callahan on the All Mid-West Regional
Team were Jamie McFadden, sophomore, from Lincoln Community High
School; Krystine Schnautz, sophomore, from Clay City High School;
and Adriane Tschantz, senior, from Decatur Christian High School.
Named to the all-tournament team at the regional championship were
junior Jessica Crowl, Unity High School, and senior Nicki Wingfield,
Somonauk High School. LCU's Jason Farr was honored as the Mid-West
Coach of the Year.
The Red Lions will play at Greenville College on Thursday and
finish their regular season against St. Louis College of Pharmacy on
Saturday at 2 p.m., at which time the senior members of the team
will be honored: Nicki Wingfield, Adriane Tschantz, Megan Callahan,
Jessica Crowl and Jennifer Enata.
The Red Lions will then head to Kissimmee, Fla., to contend for
the NCCAA national championship Nov. 12-14.
