Red Lions seeded No. 1 for national championships

[November 03, 2009]  The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University have been seeded as the No. 1 team in the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II volleyball tournament to be held in Kissimmee, Fla., Nov 12-14.

Following LCU in the seeding are No. 2 Clearwater Christian College, No. 3 Kentucky Christian University, No. 4 Manhattan Christian College, No. 5 Ozark Christian College, No. 6 Grace University, No. 7 Providence College, No. 8 Trinity College of Florida, No. 9 Philadelphia Biblical University and No. 10 West Coast Baptist College.

The Red Lions, 22-6, will open Pool A play at noon Thursday against Philadelphia and follow with a game at 6:30 Thursday against Ozark. On Friday they will play at 10 a.m. against Trinity and at 4 p.m. against Manhattan. Clearwater will be engaged in Pool B play along with Kentucky, Grace, Providence and West Coast Baptist.

The top two teams from each pool with then enter the semifinals Saturday morning, with the winners vying for the national championship at 4 p.m.
