Lincoln moves to 5-1, RLC drops to 2-5. Lincoln really struggled
with defensive intensity. The Lynx were down at halftime 36-33, and
it wasn't until the 10-minute mark in the second half that a lineup
of five guards turned up the defensive intensity and created some
easy offense. Lincoln was able to take a six-point lead and held on
for the win.
"We are still trying to get our young team to understand that we
have to play hard on the defensive end for 40 minutes," said Lincoln
coach Kirk Whiteman. "We were fortunate to get a W, being down most
of the game for the second game in a row. We need to compete for the
entire game!"
Chris Ware led all scorers with 26 points. Lincoln also had 13
points from Kenyon Smith and 10 points each from Louie Schonauer and
Marius Sumrell.
The Lynx will play on the road at Blackhawk College (5-1) on
Friday.
