William 'Bill' Fisher

[September 29, 2009]  William Wesley "Bill" Fisher, 80, a Christian Village resident, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, at 6:50 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will follow at 6 p.m., with Jim Strauss officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Mayview, at a later date.

Mr. Fisher owned Fisher’s Refrigeration Service for 30 years and was plant manager for Eskimo Ice before he retired.

He was born Aug. 13, 1929, at St. Joseph to John Wesley and Cecile Anna Marlow Fisher.

He is survived by two daughters: Sharon (and Bill) Clark of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Kathie (and Tom) Vincent of Lincoln; two sons, David (and Anna) Fisher of Pekin and John Fisher of Middletown; one sister, Wanda Lou Fisher Cohoon of Farmer City; caregiver and granddaughter Shelly (and Keith) Constance of Kenney; grandchildren Fran, Amy and Thomas Clark of Grand Rapids, Mich., Eric Quinn of Indianapolis, Ind., Leslie (and Steve) D’Avignon of Grand Rapids, Mich., Kristina (and Matt) George of North Carolina, Heather Fisher of Lincoln, Allie and Danie Fisher of Pekin, and Kris Fisher of Japan; great-grandchildren Luke Newhouse of Kenney, Seth Constance of Kenney, Wyatt Constance of Kenney (who shares the same birthday), Kaitlyn Clark of Grand Rapids, Mich., Taylor Quinn of Lincoln, Akaisha Quinn and Wesley Quinn of Indianapolis, Ind., Kalena Vineyard and Madysin Vineyard of North Carolina, Aydin George of North Carolina, and Mashell King of Lincoln; two nieces; three nephews; and his former spouse, Jean Curtis of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Claiborne "Bo" Fisher and John "Junior" Fisher.

Funeral Director

He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church

Bill enjoyed fishing in Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota; hunting for ginseng, golden root and mushrooms in the timber; deer hunting; and gardening.

He was involved with Lincoln Community Theatre productions and the Lincoln Chorale.

Memorials may be made to the activity fund at The Christian Village.
