Harold 'Russ' Bell Jr.

[October 05, 2009]  Harold Russell "Russ" Bell Jr., 70, of Lincoln, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, at 4:20 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mr. Bell's graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Harmony Cemetery, Beason.

Russ was a lifelong trucker. Those 18-wheelers carried him all across the country, but they always brought him back home to his family.

He was born June 25, 1939, in Maroa to Harold R. Sr. and Margaret Bean Bell. He married Glenda Newell on Nov. 28, 1963, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; one son, John Russell (and wife Vicky) Bell of Lincoln; one daughter, Rachel Shannon Bunner of Lincoln; two grandsons, Nick Bell and Brock Bunner of Lincoln; two granddaughters, Kelsey Bunner and Angie Bell, both of Lincoln; one brother, Art (and wife Janice) Bell of Auxvasse, Mo.; and four sisters, Karen Hickman of Auxvasse, Mo., Jeanette (and husband Bill) Caplinger of Springfield, Mo.; Shirley (and husband David) Smith of Russellville, Ark., and Debbie (and husband Billy) Long of Fredericktown, Mo.

Funeral Directors

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
