Edna 'Eddie' Smith

[October 05, 2009]  Edna Anne "Eddie" Smith, 70, of Lincoln, died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at 8:24 a.m. at her home.

Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Thursday at Lincoln Christian Church, followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m. with Paul Boatman officiating.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

In Butler, Ind., there will be visitation from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Church of Christ on Oak Street. A funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. with Dan Wagoner officiating. Arrangements there are by Johnson Funeral Home in Butler.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Riverview Cemetery, Newville, Ind.

Mrs. Smith was a missionary in Nigeria, West Africa, for 43 years.

She was born Aug. 26, 1939, in Columbus, Ohio, to Paul and Geraldine Siebert Baughman. She married Walter C. Smith on July 20, 1959, in Columbus, Ohio.

She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; one son, Keith (and Nancy) Smith of Tucumcari, N.M.; one daughter, Jerianne (and Timothy) Hyde of Lincoln; one brother, Richard (and Patricia) Baughman of Vandalia, Ohio; one sister, Betty (and Herman) Hafey of Columbus, Ohio; and six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Baughman.

Funeral Director

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to ACM International for Christian Memorial Medical Center in Nigeria or to Memorial Home Services Hospice, Springfield.
