Sheryl Johnson Poston

[October 02, 2009]  Sheryl R. Johnson Poston, 66, formerly of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009, in Pensacola, Fla.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Kaley officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Ms. Poston was a successful beautician, having owned and operated Sheryl’s Klip ’n’ Kurl in Lincoln for over 20 years before moving to Gulf Breeze, Fla., in the 1980s and continuing her profession as a beautician and business owner. She recently retired and moved to Lillian, Ala.

She was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Lincoln to Melvin and Virginia Votsmeier Wiggers.

She is survived by two daughters, Jo Dee Johnson of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Traci Johnson Poston (and Frank) of Mary Esther, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sheryl had a very creative imagination, which she displayed through her many talents. Whether it was as a beautician, artist or home decorator, she spread beauty in many places and in various ways.

She will be sadly missed by family and friends in both Illinois and Florida.
