This week's LCDPH flu fact

Send a link to a friend

[October 14, 2009]  The Logan County Department of Public Health has received a small amount of the 2009 H1N1 vaccine in nasal spray form. This vaccine is licensed only for people ages 2-49 without underlying medical conditions, including pregnancy. Due to the small amount of vaccine received, the health department is offering the vaccine to the following populations:

  • Health care workers.

  • Emergency services workers.

  • Household contacts and child care providers of children under 6 months of age.

The health department appreciates your understanding about the vaccinating of certain priority populations before opening the H1N1 vaccine to the remainder of the priority populations and the community as a whole.

Please continue to monitor the weekly "flu facts" as more of the priority groups are approved to be vaccinated and when more of the H1N1 vaccine is available.

For more information, visit www.flu.gov and www.lcdph.org or call the Logan County Department of Public Health at 217-735-2317.
