[October 15, 2009]  CHICAGO (AP) -- A quick repair job has traffic flowing again on a downtown Chicago expressway where a pavement buckle caused major delays during the evening rush hour.

Officials with the Illinois Department of Transportation say crews worked through the night to repair the buckle on the Kennedy Expressway, which is also known as Interstate 90/94.

IDOT says workers were pumping concrete into an underground freight tunnel when the pressure caused the damage Wednesday afternoon.

All lanes and ramps on the Kennedy Expressway reopened shortly before 4:30 a.m. Thursday.
