[October 16, 2009]  The Lady Wolverine basketball teams fell to Mount Pulaski on Thursday night in two hard-fought games.

InsuranceThe seventh grade lost 21-19. The team was led in scoring by Adrienne Klockenga with six points, and Mikayla Smith added four points. Emily Martinez led in rebounding with six rebounds. Brook Soebbing added three steals.

The eighth-grade team lost an exciting game in double overtime 42-35. West Lincoln played the entire second overtime with three players, due to the fact that the rest of the team fouled out or reached their quarter limit.

Michelle Paulus led all scoring with 22 points, 10 rebounds and five steals. Alexandra Turner chipped in five points and five steals. Livvie Muck added three points and seven rebounds. Lexee Klockenga, Kate Benner and Kaylyn Hoffert were the three standing players at the end of double overtime and combined for five points.

Mount Pulaski was led in scoring by Whitney Nichols with 17 points.

Both games were hard-fought and demonstrated a never-surrender attitude.

The Lady Wolverine teams will be back in action on Monday at WL-B against Zion Lutheran.
