Jackey Stiles Sr.

[October 23, 2009]  CHESTNUT -- Jackey B. Stiles Sr., 52, of Chestnut, died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at 3:30 p.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur.

Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Mount Pulaski Christian Church, with the Rev. Daniel Shreve officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery, Mount Pulaski, where military rites will be conducted.

Mr. Stiles retired from the Navy after 22 years of service, then worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Decatur.

He was born Sept. 10, 1957, in Lincoln to Ralph C. Sr. and Blanche Elliott Stiles. He married Teresa Hall on Jan. 7, 1977. She preceded him in death on Feb. 14, 1994. He married Sophia Cross on Nov. 29, 2004.

He is survived by his wife, of Chestnut; one son, Jackey B. Jr. (and Melissa) Stiles of Atlanta; one daughter, Misty L. Stiles of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers and sisters Michael Stiles of Montgomery City, Mo., Blanche (and Dean) Rose of Blytheville, Ark., Jenny (and Terry) Cross of San Jose, Mary Merritt of New Holland, Rose (and Tim) Tolliver of Lincoln, Juanita (and Allen) Ransdell of Lincoln, Helen (and Mike) Wonder of Lincoln and Christy Stiles of Lincoln; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Stiles of Oreana; and four grandchildren, Conner Stiles, Emily Stiles, Alex Chandler and Madison Chandler.

Funeral Director

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Ralph Jr., James, Thomas and Wayne.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1756 in Lincoln and the National Rifle Association.
