Red Lions defeat Red Devils

[October 28, 2009]  The Red Lions of Lincoln Christian University made quick work out of defeating the Red Devils of Eureka College in volleyball in three games Tuesday evening: 25-17, 25-22, 25-19. After trailing 8-12 in the first game, LCU turned up the heat and was never headed the rest of the evening.  

The Red Lions were led by Krystine Schnautz with 12 kills, six digs, five blocks and seven assists; Nicki Wingfield, seven kills and four blocks; Adriane Tschantz, six kills, five digs and four blocks; and Jamie McFadden, eight kills, one assist, seven digs and one block. Setter Megan Callahan had 32 assists and 11 digs. Libero Jessica Crowl contributed 10 digs.

LCU will be taking a 20-6 record and No. 1 seed into the National Christian College Athletic Association Division II regional championship when they travel to Grand Rapids, Mich., this weekend.

Following the regional championship the Red Lions will play at Greenville College on Nov. 5 and have their final home match against St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Nov. 7, which will be designated as Senior Recognition Day.
