Joanna Boice

[October 31, 2009]  MIDDLETOWN -- Joanna Harrison Boice, 90, of Lincoln, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home, with Chaplain Ryan Edgecombe officiating.

Burial will be in Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown.

Joanna was born June 21, 1919, in Mason City, the daughter of Burt and Jennie Case Harrison. She married Vincent Boice on Nov. 28, 1939. He preceded her in death in the late 1980s.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann Wilson of Middletown; two grandsons, Tracy Wilson of Goreville and Dennis Wilson of Lincoln; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; two great-great-granddaughters; and her brother, Myron Harrison of Mason City.

Mrs. Boice was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed painting and shared many hunting, fishing and camping trips with her family.

Memorial donations may be made to Middletown Fire and Rescue and will be accepted at the funeral home.
