J. Mitchell "Mitch" Brackney, 41, of
Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Lincoln, died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009,
at 2 p.m. at his home. |
There will be a private service at Holy Cross
Cemetery in Lincoln, with Father Thomas Shaw
officiating. There is no visitation
Mr. Brackney was a graphic designer.
He was born Feb. 1, 1968, in Chicago Heights.
He is survived by his father, James (and Karen)
Brackney of Lincoln; his mother, Sally Heinzel
Brackney of Springfield; one son, Jackson Brackney
of Kansas City, Mo.; one daughter, Lauren Brackney
of Kansas City, Mo.; his former wife, Ruth Brackney
of Kansas City, Mo.; one sister, Britta Brackney of
Springfield; one brother, Brian (and Debbie)
Brackney of Lincoln; one nephew, Ben Brackney of
Lincoln; two nieces, Rylie and Rachel Brackney of
Lincoln; an uncle, Lindsey Heinzel of Springfield;
and an aunt, Nancy Pineda of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his maternal
grandparents, James and Charlotte Heinzel, and his
paternal grandparents, Albert James Brackney and
Selma Brackney. |
He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in
Kansas City, Mo., where he was an usher.
He coached his son's baseball, basketball and
football games.
Mitch graduated from Lincoln Community High
School and Illinois State University.
Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Catholic
Grade School in Kansas City, Mo.
