West Lincoln-Broadwell over Sangamon Valley

[September 05, 2009]  West Lincoln-Broadwell (6-4) defeated Sangamon Valley 9-1 Friday afternoon behind the outstanding pitching of Daniel Hemenway (1-0).

Making his first start of the year, Hemenway pitched a complete game, a one-hitter, striking out four SV hitters.

The Wolverines banged out 13 hits in total. Hemenway had two hits, including a double, to help his own cause. Payton Ebelherr and Joey Olden each had three hits. Ebelherr had two doubles, two runs scored and two RBIs, while Olden had a double and three RBIs. Levi Curry had two hits and three RBIs. Brock Byrge had a double, a triple and three runs scored.

WL-B next plays host to Mount Pulaski at noon on Saturday in the Logan County tournament.
