Mary L. Williamson, 80, of Lincoln,
died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at 1:07 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital.
Her body will be cremated, as she wished, and burial of her ashes
will be in New Union Cemetery. A portion of her ashes will also be
scattered at the Oregon coast where she spent many wonderful
vacations. |
To honor her memory, the family will have a
celebration of life, open to family and friends,
starting at 1 p.m. Sept. 19 at the family home, 903
N. Union. Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is in
charge of arrangements.
Mary Lois Ticknor was born May 16, 1929, in
Lincoln, a daughter of Arthur and Lelia Pointer
Ticknor. She married William Williamson on June 29,
1947, in Lincoln.
She is survived by her husband; her children,
Michael (and Jana) Williamson of Marshall, Carol
(and Rod) Berryman of Ames, Iowa, Dianne Williamson
of Lincoln, Joyce Metz of Chatham, Scott Williamson
of Normal and Lisa (and Ron) Hermant of Tigard,
Ore.; two sisters, Francille (and Wayne) Crosier of
Mount Pulaski and Frances Read of Lincoln; seven
grandchildren, Amy (and James) Anderson, Marianne
(and Robert) Hay, Justin Walsh, Susan Williamson,
John Metz, David Williamson and Amanda Metz; and
three great-grandchildren, Ethan Anderson, Hannah
Williamson and Bryan Hay.
Mary loved her large family and was a devoted
mother and grandmother.
She was also especially fond
of nature and seemed most at peace when observing
birds and flowers.
She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1947.
