[September 16, 2009]  McLEAN -- David Dean Boyer, 63, of McLean, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at 9:26 p.m. at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Eminence Christian Church, rural Atlanta, with Andy Glass officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta and from 9 until 10 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, rural Lincoln.

Mr. Boyer retired from Eaton Corp. on March 5, 2008.

He was born March 4, 1946, in Lincoln, a son of Clarence Edward and Goldie May Carwile Boyer. He married Lucy L. Renfrow on Sept. 10, 1971. She preceded him in death on March 1, 2009.

He is survived by his children, Charles Boyer of McLean and Elizabeth (and Mark) Wood of Danvers; three grandchildren, Zachary, Brandon and Emmalee Wood; and three brothers, Harvey (and Julia) Boyer of San Jose, Robert (and Donna) Boyer of Havana and Dale Boyer, address unknown.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, David Lee Boyer; one sister, Jean Lavaun Skelton-Lee; and three brothers, Donald Boyer and infants Jerry Boyer and Raymond Boyer.

He was a member of Eminence Christian Church.

Memorials may be made to the McLean Rescue Squad or the Community Cancer Center in Normal.
