Helen Hayes

[September 15, 2009]  Helen Hayes, 82, of Lincoln, died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at St. Clara's Manor.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Clyde Shreve officiating. Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Hayes retired from Lincoln Developmental Center.

She was born Sept. 25, 1926, at Eagle Creek to Will and Emma Goodson Casey. She first married Jack Rose at Cave-In-Rock. She later married Robert Hayes at Shawneetown. Both husbands preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Floyd (and Blanche) Rose of Blytheville, Ark., and Michael (and Sharon) Hayes of Lincoln; two daughters, Velma (and Ed) Coffey of Lenoir, N.C., and Deborah Hayes of Centralia; three brothers, Earl Casey, Robert Casey and James Casey; three sisters, Ann Jameson, Glenda Hauth and Eva Chandler; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Hearl Casey and Carroll Casey, and four sisters, Inez Gibson, Jane Randle, Rita Bradley and Ruth Bradley.

Memorials may be made to St. Clara's Manor.
