LCHS Marching Band wins Mount Zion Marching Games

[September 21, 2009]  MOUNT ZION -- The LCHS Marching Band won first place in Class AA for its field show at the Mount Zion Marching Games on Saturday. Under the direction of Dave Swaar, the Marching Railers beat out Olympia, Sangamon Valley and Mattoon high schools to capture their division with their field show, "Rumble on the High Plains."

In addition, LCHS drum major Katy Langdon won a trophy for "Best Drum Major" in Class AA.

The next marching band performance will take place Friday at the LCHS homecoming football game against Chatham Glenwood.
