Mary Ruble

[September 29, 2009]  McLEAN -- Mary E. Ruble, 78, of McLean, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, at 8:07 p.m. at Heartland Health Care Center in Normal.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday at McLean Christian Church. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Tony Billingsley officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Waynesville.

Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home of Atlanta is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ruble retired from Country Companies in 1993.

She was born Sept. 30, 1930, in rural Garner, Ark., the daughter of Homer and Louise Johnson Goff. She married Wesley "Shorty" Ruble on July 12, 1954. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 2008.

She is survived by her children, Brian (and Maggie) Ruble of Plano, Texas, and Cathy (and Steve) Craig of McLean; three grandchildren, Daniel Craig, Ivy Craig and Nichole Ruble; and one brother, Everett "Sonny" (and Sharon) Goff of McRae, Ark.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She attended the McLean Christian Church. She was a member of the McLean American Legion Auxiliary, Mount Hope Ladies Aid and The Oasis senior center in Lincoln.

She had attended Arkansas State University-Beebe.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and sewing.

Memorials may be made to the Mount Hope Funks Grove Township Library or a charity of the donor's choice.
