[April 20, 2010]  Adam Schweitzer, a 1998 alumnus of Lincoln Community High School, was recently named the 2010 Illinois Basketball Coaches Association District 19 Junior High School Co-Coach of the Year. He coached the Amelia Carriel Junior High School Cougars, who finished second in the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association state tournament in February.

He previously won the coaching award in 2008 at Fulton Junior High School.

He was featured in an O'Fallon Progress article last week by Mark Raeber. In the article, Schweitzer is quoted as crediting his coaching philosophy to Lincoln's longtime basketball coach Neil Alexander. (Article and picture)

Schweitzer lettered in both baseball and basketball at LCHS and was a four-year letter-winner in baseball at Monmouth College.
