[April 16, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Brenda Cooper Martin, 52, of Springfield, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, and her mother, Mary Ann Cooper, 74, of New Holland, died Friday, April 16, 2010, at Mason City Area Nursing Home.

Graveside services for mother and daughter will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, at Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.

Private family visitation will be at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mary Ann was born Sept. 5, 1935, in Peoria, to the late James and Mary Francis Lee Parsons. She married Donald Cooper.

She is survived by her husband, of New Holland; one son, Jeff "Opie" (and wife Tammy) Cooper of New Holland; her son-in-law, James Martin of Springfield; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Cooper retired from Eaton after 25 years with the company.

She was of the Catholic faith.

She enjoyed garage sales and spending time with her family.

Brenda Lee was born March 31, 1958, in Lincoln, the daughter of Donald and Mary Ann Parsons Cooper. She married James Martin in Lincoln 29 years ago on Oct. 11.

She is survived by her husband, of Springfield; her father, of New Holland; her brother, Jeff "Opie" (and Tammy) Cooper of New Holland; three daughters, Leandra Palmer of Lincoln, Angela Marsaglia of Jacksonville and Megan Phillips of Lincoln; one son, Zachary Martin of Peoria; six grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral Directors

Memorial donations in Mary Ann's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the American Cancer Society, and donations in Brenda's memory may be made to the Vine Street Clinic in Springfield. The memorials will be accepted at the funeral home.
