Grains futures trade mostly higher; beef rises

[April 30, 2010]    CHICAGO (AP) -- Grains futures were mostly higher Thursday on the Chicago Board of Trade.

Wheat for July delivery rose 8.5 cents to $4.965 a bushel; July corn was up 8.25 cents to $3.7225 a bushel; July soybeans gained 10 cents to $10.035 a bushel; and July oats were flat at $2.0825 a bushel.

Meanwhile, beef futures gained and pork was flat to higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.

June live cattle rose 0.43 cent to 93.85 cents a pound; August feeder cattle gained 0.48 cent to $1.16 a pound; June lean hogs were flat at 84.60 cents a pound; and May pork bellies climbed 0.30 cent to 97.50 cents a pound.
