Daniel 'Moose' Walters

[August 11, 2010]  GREENVIEW -- Daniel Lee "Moose" Walters, 61, of Greenview, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, at 5:58 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Greenview Masonic Lodge will conduct a Masonic service at 4 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. All master Masons are invited to attend. Visitation will follow from 5 to 7 p.m.

A graveside service will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Petersburg, at 9:30 a.m. Friday, with Blake Canterbury to officiate.

Mr. Walters was employed for several years with the Norfolk Southern Railroad.

He was born June 25, 1949, in Lincoln. His parents were Carl "Bucky" and Mary Langenbahn Walters.

He is survived by two sons, Shane (and Lisa) Walters of Olney and Dustin Walters of Phoenix, Ariz.; two granddaughters, Mia and Autumn Walters of Olney; two brothers, Terry (and Hilda) Walters of Lincoln and Ronald Walters of Lincoln; one sister, Connie (and Ray) Evans of Energy; five nieces; two nephews; his dog, Moses; and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rick, in 2008.

He was a member of Greenview Christian Church, Greenview Masonic Lodge, Mount Pulaski Commandery 39 and Sons of the American Legion in Greenview.

Funeral Director

Danny graduated from Lincoln Community High School.

He was a very special person and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
