Ruby Skelton

[August 13, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Ruby E. Skelton, 67, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at 9:27 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jacob Skelton officiating.

Burial will be in Irish Grove Cemetery, Middletown.

Mrs. Skelton was a home health care provider and a technician at LDC for many years.

She was born May 20, 1943, in Lincoln. Her parents were Raymond and Martha Jones Benedict. She married Wayne Skelton on July 15, 1959, in Iowa. He preceded her in death in November 2002.

She is survived by two daughters, Carla (and Tracy) Mattingly of Lincoln and Bonnie (and Richard) Miller of Lincoln; three sons, Donald Skelton of Lincoln, Michael (and Kelly) Skelton of Lincoln and Tony Skelton of Lincoln; one sister, Susie Eatherly of Washington; two brothers, Raymond Benedict of Lincoln and Lyle Benedict of Lincoln; several half brothers and half sisters in the Peoria area; 16 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Tommy Skelton.

She was a member of Elkhart United Methodist Church.
