Vicky Hamilton

[August 31, 2010]  NEW HOLLAND -- Vicky Lynn Hamilton, 53, of New Holland, died Monday, Aug. 30, 2010, at home, surrounded by the love of her family.

According to her wishes, her body will be cremated. There will be no services. Her family and friends will gather at a later date to celebrate her life.

Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Vicky was born Jan. 4, 1957, in Missouri. Her parents were Malford Nicholas and Pearl Robinson Nicholas. 

She is survived by her best friend and companion, Robert Carmicle of New Holland; one daughter, Misty Dawn Collum (and Jason) of Big Pine Key, Fla..; one son, Douglas Wayne Jeffries (and Nicole) of Lincoln; three grandchildren, Alexandra Lee Morgan, Kennedy Jeffries and Kaelyn Collum; two stepgrandchildren, Allen and Makenzie Goodman; six sisters, Willa Sapp, Rosetta Nicholas, Ruby Nicholas and Roberta Nicholas, all of Lincoln, Brenda Nicholas of Atlanta, and Gloria Henderson of Iowa; and two brothers, Richard Nicholas of Philadelphia, Pa., and J.R. Tracte of Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Michael Nicholas.

She collected roosters, but her greatest treasure was her family. She was a friend to anyone in need and wanted nothing more than to help everyone to love each other.

Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
