Accident

Dec. 7

Accident occurred on Fifth Street, 150 feet west of South Washington.

  • Rogers, Daniel J., 19, Emden; 2001 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Alex M. Miller

  • Ellegood, Stephanie L., 36, Lincoln; 1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass

Ellegood said she was westbound on Fifth, in the process of making a right-hand turn, when she was hit from the rear with such force that it caused her vehicle to enter a nearby parking lot and spin 360 degrees.

Rogers said he was southbound on South Washington. At the intersection with Fifth, he turned right and in less than a half-block smashed into the Ellegood vehicle. Rogers said he did not see Ellegood.

At the time of the accident, Logan County Paramedics were on the scene and were told by Ellegood that she was experiencing some minor neck pain. She refused care from the paramedics, but she was transported to Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital by her father.

Rogers received citations for driving too fast for conditions and operating an uninsured vehicle. Ellegood received citations for operating an uninsured vehicle and driving a vehicle with an expired registration.

Lincoln Police Department

  • Courts, Zobia, 21, of Chicago, was arrested Dec. 7 in the 300 block of Keokuk Street on charge of criminal trespass.

Logan County Sheriff's Department

  • Brakefield, Byron K., 43, of the 200 block of Clinton Street, Middletown, was arrested Dec. 7 at the Logan County Safety Complex on a Coles County warrant.

Atlanta

  • Roberts, Craig A., 25, of the 100 block of SE Vine Street in Atlanta, was arrested Dec. 7 on Arch Street in Atlanta on a charge of driving with a license revoked.
