Ronnie Ackley

[December 27, 2010]  MIDDLETOWN -- Ronnie Henry Ackley, 68, of Middletown, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at 6:02 a.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Kenny Kidd officiating.

Burial will be in Irish Grove Cemetery, with military rites.

Mr. Ackley retired from Caterpillar in Morton in 1999 after working 30 years as a power trucker.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He was born Nov. 8, 1942, at Middletown. His parents were Clyde and Bernadine Steinhour Ackley. He married Linda Humphres on May 29, 1965, at the Williamsville Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, of Middletown; one son, Brian Ackley of Williamsville; one granddaughter, Brianna Ackley; one grandson, Arron Ackley; one brother, Harold Raymond (and Joann) Ackley of Mesquite, Nevada; and two sisters, Bonnie (and Ronnie) Janssen of Middletown and Sandy (and Marc) Wendt of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Director

He was the current treasurer of Middletown American Legion Post 672 and a member of Logan County Voiture 40 et 8.

Memorials may be made to Middletown American Legion Post 672.
